Beta Testing David Relay Tasks
We found the David Data sheet to be fairly complete and explanatory. We liked the diagrams, they helped greatly with understanding. The application examples made the task amazingly straightforward. We liked the new connectors (the David screw-in as opposed to using ring connectors on the Spike). On our 2011 we used on Spike Relay to control a compressor. We switched the Spike for the David; the electrical work was very quick. We then had a simple LabVIEW project that only ran the compressor. We did have to be careful about the new order of the cRIO cards. Since our 4 slot cRIO had to be sent back to NI for repair, we used our 8 slot cRIO. The David worked robustly and as we thought it would. Although we only used the relay on our 2011 robot for a compressor, we are thinking about adding a motor and testing that with the relay.
